I have been training with John over the last five years. Before I did so I spent many years pondering and trying to build the body I thought would be ideal for me. Being overweight has been a lifelong problem for me. For the past 18 years I have suffered from an eating disorder that made dieting with success difficult. I looked ‘happy’ on the outside, but I was hurting. I felt my weight was in the way of me being happy!! I knew I needed to change and had tried many times. I had joined several gyms but only ever lasted six to seven weeks I decided to join the fitness centre too.
18 months down the road I no longer need a councilor. I have lost 20lbs of body fat, a total of 17 inches around my body this weight loss has been maintained. I joined New Physique Fitness Centre 2 years ago. I weighed 18 1⁄2 stone. At first I tried to lose weight following my eating plan, but as it was my own eating plan that got me to 18 1⁄2 stone in the first place I thought I better get some real help.
6 months into my own programme I started training with Debbie who runs the Diet Club at New Physique.
I must admit that changing my eating habits was the hardest thing to overcome.
The thought that I had to eat more to lose weight seemed utterly bizarre to me, I thought I was doing the right thing, one meal a day. Once Debbie explained to me how food works and how the body utilises it things began to make sense.
